At the celebrating holy Patriarchal skete of Halki island, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated during the Vesper of the Feast of the Transfiguration of Christ the Savior on Monday, August 5.
There also attended Metropolitan Elder Dimitrios of Princes Islands, Archbishop Nektarios of Anthidon, Commissioner of the Holy Sepulcher in Constantinople, Bishop Kyrillos of Erythres, the Ambassador of Greece in Vietnam Giannis Raptakis, Giannipanus, Georgia Soultanopoulou, General Consul of Greece in Constantinople and a crowd of faithful.
On Tuesday, the Ecumenical Patriarch performed the Divine Liturgy in the homonymous Holy Patriarchal Church of Princes Islands.
At the end of the Liturgy, Ecumenical Patriarch distributed grapes and held the exequies in memory of the Ecumenical Patriarchs Chrysanthos and Sophronios III.
Many faithful attended the church, while Bishop Elder Dimitrios had also welcomed the Ecumenical Patriarch at the dock of the island.
Mayor Erdem Gül also attended the Divine Liturgy, whom the Patriarch thanked for his presence and congratulated him on his recent election.
