The Holy Synod of the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine, which met today, chaired by Metropolitan Epiphanius, was concluded.
As Romfea.gr reported on Wednesday, May 22, during the meeting, the Holy Synod elected Archim. Epiphanius Dimitriou as Bishop of Olbia.
In a communiqué, the Holy Synod stressed that “the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Ukraine is based on the Holy Bible, the Tradition, the Sacred Canons, and the Charter adopted by the 2018 Unification Synod and assigned the Tomos of Autocephaly in January 2019”.
“The Local Orthodox Church preserves its internal unity and invites all bishops, clerics, and believers to discuss and resolve any issue arising, in the spirit of brotherly love, while avoiding incitement to hostility, confrontation and division,” added the Holy Synod.
Moreover, the Holy Synod expressed its full support to the primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kiev and all Ukraine.
Finally, Romfea.gr information indicates that Filaret promised to the delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which held a meeting with him a few days ago, “to comply”.
